TRAIN-e-HOTEL meeting in Karviná

From 24 to 26 January 2024, members of the Department of Tourism took part in an international project meeting in the Czech Republic.

The Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Central European Studies at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, represented by Ing. Norbert Beták, PhD., PhDr. Viktória Bíziková, PhD., MBA, Ing. Hana Bielikova, PhD., Ing. Kristína Pančíková, PhD. and RNDr. PaedDr. Ján Veselovský, PhD. participated in the international meeting to solve the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership KA220-HED-000023291 project in Karvina. The project meeting took place from on the campus of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship of the University of Silesia in Opava. In addition to the organisers, the project investigators from the Pannonian University in Hungary and Turiba University in Riga were also present in person at the meeting. Representatives from the University del Salento in Lecce participated in the online project meeting.

The meeting aimed to present the partial results of the project activities in which teachers and students from the individual partner institutions were involved. The work presented related to sustainable management, marketing tools and the implementation of a hotel information system in a fictitious hotel environment, which is intended to serve as an effective form of development for future tourism professionals.

The project meeting fulfilled its purpose. The project helps to bring students closer to the real practice of hotel management, deepens their general and professional competencies necessary for working in tourism and is a starting point for the implementation of future international project activities.
