Foreign professional excursion of tourism students in Brno
On April 10. 2024 we participated in the subject "Geography of tourism - the world" under the guidance of RNDr. PaedDr. Ján Veselovský, PhD. and Ing. Kristina Pančíková, PhD. foreign one-day professional excursion in the city of Brno in the Czech Republic. We left Nitra at 7:30 a.m. During the trip, we used the time to present reports on the most important cultural and historical monuments and various tourism attractions in the city of Brno.
After arriving in Brno, our first stop was the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul with a tour of the interior. Subsequently, we moved to the historic center of the city, where we passed through the Green market offering domestic and imported agricultural products. A visit to the Papilonia butterfly house was also an experience for us, because we walk through pavilion with a tropical environment with various types of exotic butterflies.
After the tour of Papilonia, we walked through the square, where we saw the Brno Astronomical Clock. This was followed by a break for lunch and any activities related to getting to know the city, e.g. visiting the Labyrinth under the green market. After lunch, we visited Špilberg Castle together with the surrounding park and the light fountain.
Departure from Brno took place at 5:00 p.m. and we returned to the city of Nitra before 8:00 p.m.
We enjoyed the excursion very much. We gained a lot of new information and through our active presentations in the form of pre-prepared reports that we gave throughout the day, we enriched each other with new knowledge.
We thank our teachers for the day spent together, their willingness to prepare an interesting program for us and a pleasant tour around the city of Brno.
We are looking forward to further professional excursions and related experiences.
