Erasmus+ BIP “Seeds of Well-Being” – International Professional Cooperation in Teacher Training
From 8 to 12 June 2026, the Institute for Teacher Training of the Faculty of Central European Studies at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra successfully organized an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled “Seeds of Well-Being”. In addition to students from the host institution, the event brought together teacher trainees and academics from three Hungarian higher education institutions – Apor Vilmos Catholic College (Vác), the University of Public Service (Budapest), and Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest) – as well as from a partner institution in Romania, Partium Christian University (Oradea). The programme thus provided an excellent platform for international exchange of experience and professional dialogue.
The week-long programme focused on promoting the well-being of preschool and primary school children, fostering healthy lifestyles, and exploring the educational dimensions of sustainability. Participants took part in a variety of interactive workshops that enriched them with practical knowledge and innovative methodological approaches. Topics included the importance of correct posture in school-aged children, the promotion of healthy eating habits in primary education, the intersection of science and art in sustainability education, and the production of eco-friendly soaps, which highlighted practical ways of developing environmentally conscious attitudes.
The workshops proved particularly valuable for the professional development of future teachers. Participants not only gained new knowledge but also became familiar with methodological tools that they can directly apply in their future teaching practice. Collaborative problem-solving, teamwork, and international cooperation enhanced their communication, organizational, and intercultural competencies, while also providing opportunities to learn about educational practices and systems in different countries.
The professional programme was complemented by a rich selection of cultural and educational activities. Participants explored the historical and cultural heritage of Nitra through guided city tours, took part in a study excursion to the Mlyňany Arboretum, and visited the János Esterházy Pilgrimage Centre in Dolné Obdokovce. Another important component of the programme was the visit to the Károly Szemerényi Hungarian-Language Primary School in Tvrdošovce, which offered students valuable insight into the everyday realities of school life and educational practice.
Throughout the intensive week, students worked in international groups and presented the outcomes of their collaborative work in a series of final presentations. The closing day of the programme was dedicated to student presentations, personal reflections, programme evaluation, and the ceremonial presentation of certificates.
Feedback from both students and academic staff was overwhelmingly positive. Participants highlighted the high professional quality of the programme, the practical relevance of the workshops, and the inspiring atmosphere of international cooperation. They also highly appreciated the comprehensive and thoughtful organization, which ensured the smooth running of all activities, as well as the generous hospitality provided throughout the week. Once again, the Erasmus+ BIP demonstrated its value as an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing, building professional networks, and preparing future teachers for the challenges of the twenty-first century.
The Faculty of Central European Studies at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra remains committed to strengthening international cooperation and advancing high-quality teacher training. Erasmus+ programmes continue to play a significant role in supporting these objectives and in enhancing the international dimension of higher education.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the partner institutions for their active participation and professional cooperation, to the institutional Erasmus+ coordinator, doc. PhDr. Martina Pavlíková, PhD., MBA and Office for International Relations for their professional and administrative assistance.
We confirm that the financial resources allocated for the implementation of the BIP were used purposefully, transparently, and in accordance with the rules of the Erasmus+ programme.
We would also like to thank everyone who contributed to the successful implementation of the programme. We believe that the established contacts and gained experiences will provide a foundation for future joint educational and scientific cooperation.
