Professional Development and Cultural Experiences in Cluj

Students from the Faculty of Central European Studies took part in the BIP Erasmus+ program, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, from March 17 to 21, 2025. The theme of the program was Empowered Leadership: Managing People and Business Skills.

At the start of the week, our students had the opportunity to explore some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and delve into their historical background. Despite the unfavourable weather, they managed to visit several notable sites, including the statue and birthplace of King Matthias, the Hungarian Opera House in Cluj, and the Transylvanian Ethnographic Museum. They also toured the impressive Turda Salt Mine, located in the heart of Transylvania.

The academic portion of the program included lectures delivered by professors from the host university, focusing on key aspects of leadership and their real-world applications. The students were introduced to various strategies and methods recommended for effective leadership in a corporate environment.

As a fitting conclusion to the week, the students were assigned a group project: to develop a functional business plan. By mutual agreement, they selected Nitra—our university's Alma Mater—as the headquarters for their hypothetical company. After presenting their project successfully, they earned significant recognition for their work.

The journey to Romania left a lasting impression on the students. The experiences they shared—both the accomplishments and the challenges—greatly contributed to their personal growth and professional development.
