Discussion at Divadelná Nitra
On September 25, 2023, teachers and students from the Institute of Central European Languages and Cultures (study programme Central European Area Studies) took part in the opening ceremony of the academic year 2023/2024, followed by an interesting discussion within the framework of Divadelná Nitra.
This year's theme of Divadelná Nitra is called Responses. That is why an interesting discussion entitled Divácke odozvy – Nové trendy v práci s publikom (Audience Responses – New Trends in Working with the Audience) took place as part of the accompanying program. The active interaction of the theatre and its audience and why it is important for the theatre were discussed by Zuzana Kráľová, a theatre lecturer at the National Theatre in Prague, Darko Lukić, a theatrologist and audience development expert, and Anna Šimončičová, a cultural manager from the Divadelná Nitra Association. The event was moderated by theatrologist Miro Zwiefelhofer. The individual presentations emphasized the effectiveness in developing communication and cooperation with the audience, ideas on how to create conditions for this development inside the theatre or how to accompany the audience on the way to the theatre and enhance their experience of the theatre performance. The lecturers agreed that the mentioned procedures help to make theatre art accessible to less experienced viewers, while building their relationship to dramatic art and specific theatre.
