Music-Experiential Pedagogy at the Faculty of Central European Studies

On 7 May, a workshop called Musical-Experiential Pedagogy took place in the Music Hall with the participation of first-year students of pre-school and elementary pedagogy, organised by the Faculty of Central European Studies.

The seminar was led by Mgr. Rolanda Hanza, teacher of singing and music, choirmaster of the Hungarian musical and art foundation Superar, private singing teacher at the Vox Canto Tanoda Institute and mentor of the Regional Centre for Pedagogical Support in Nové Zámky.

The students were introduced to the experiential music-pedagogical methods in a relaxed atmosphere, such as warm-up games to improve body perception and concentration, thematic singing, and teaching songs with motion choreography.

In the second half of the session, they had the opportunity to briefly try out the reception of music in combination with free movement, self-expression and visual creation. They also tried free improvisational movement to classical music and visualization of the musical experience through various visual techniques.

The program was a truly joyful musical event and we hope that the students will be able to apply this experience in their teaching practice.
