Family Business Forum
Members of the Department of Tourism at the Faculty of Central European Studies UKF in Nitra—Ing. Norbert Beták, PhD. univ. doc., Ing. Hana Bieliková, PhD., PhDr. Viktória Bíziková, PhD., MBA, Ing. Kristína Pančíková, PhD., and Doc. Ing. Mgr. Ľubomíra Strážovská, PhD., participated in a work-trip to Albania on April 27–28, 2026, to attend the major international event Family Business Forum – Symposium in the Albanian city of Durrës, as part of the Visegrad Fund – SkillBridge: Enhancing Family Tourism Enterprises through Education and Cooperation in V4 & Albania.
On April 27, 2026, an interactive ice-breaking session and presentation of online educational courses (MOOCs) took place, in which members of the Department of Tourism PhDr. Viktória Bíziková, PhD., MBA, and Ing. Kristína Pančíková, PhD., also participated. The day’s program also included an excursion and a meeting with representatives of family businesses in the tourism sector, which facilitated the exchange of practical experiences directly from the business environment.
During this visit, on the following day, April 28, 2026, members of the department actively participated in the Family Business Forum, where Assoc. Prof. Ing. Mgr. Ľubomíra Strážovská, PhD. presented the results of the project’s qualitative survey—a comparison of family businesses in the tourism sector in the individual countries Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Albania—in a more extended presentation.
At the academic forum, faculty members, students from the participating countries, and representatives of family businesses from Albania subsequently engaged in a stimulating and interesting discussion. Its main objective was to share knowledge, promote cross-border cooperation, and strengthen family entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. Educational materials were also presented, designed to develop skills, raise awareness, and share examples of best practices from the V4 countries. The program continued that day with presentations by the winning startups from each country, in which students presented their business ideas in an international setting.
Looking ahead, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the qualitative survey results, compare the results across countries, produce our own outputs, and develop a case study.
