On 7-9 November 2023, it hosted the international scientific conference Connections – Intersections – Confrontations, and several experts from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Croatia presented their research on the history, architecture, culture and literature of Central Europe. Two researchers from the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Central Europe of the Faculty of Central European Studies Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra – doc. PhDr. Ján Gallik, PhD., and Mgr. Michal Krauter also participated. In their lectures, both presented their research on spiritual literary creations – specifically, a comparison of the Slovak and Polish literary and cultural contexts. The conference also included a tour of the permanent exhibition of traditional and contemporary art in the beautiful Silesian Museum, located in the industrial setting of the former mines.
