Principles of the Admission Procedure

Deadlines for submitting application for studies in the academic year 2023/2024

- Bachelor’s study: by 31 March 2023

- Master’s study: by 30 April 2023

- Doctorate study (PhD.): by 31 May 2023

The basic requirement for admission to the Bachelor's programme at the Faculty of Central European Studies of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is the acquisition of a full secondary education or a full secondary vocational education completed by school leaving exam.

At the Faculty of Central European Studies of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, the selection of applicants for admission to the Bachelor's programme is based on the results achieved at secondary schools or on the basis of the results of the test of the National Comparative Exams (NCE)  organised by the SCIO Agency (for more information click here www.scio.sk/nps).

The entrance examination for the bachelor studies at the Faculty of Central European Studies of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is usually not included as a part of the verification of the study abilities. The prerequisite for admission to the study programme Teaching Hungarian Language and Literature in Combination is a successful school leaving exam in Hungarian language and literature.

An applicant applies for studies by completing an electronic or printed application form (the faculty prefers that students apply electronically). The Faculty also accepts paper applications in the form of a completed form recommended by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

An applicant may submit multiple applications for the study programmes of his/her choice, but each time using a separate application form, and the fee is payable by the applicant for each application submitted separately. The application fee is not refundable after the application has been registered, either in case of failure to pass take the entrance examination or in the case of withdrawal of the application.

If you apply electronically:

- complete the electronic application form,

- print the electronic application form,

- confirm the electronic application form,

- send the signed application form with attachments by post.

Completion of the electronic application form is ensured through the Academic Information System of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.

Bachelor´s degree (Bc.)

In the application form, the applicant must indicate: the academic year, the required personal data, the name of the faculty, the name of the study programme in which he/she is interested, the form of study (full-time), the method of study (present), the year of the school-leaving examination, the code of the secondary school, the type of secondary school from which he/she graduated, its name and address, the field of study and the code of the field of study of the secondary school, on the third page of the application form he/she provides a summary of his/her previous studies at the university, the date, and  signs application form

Required attachments to the application form are: CV, motivation letter, certified copy of Maturita certificate (without the addition of supplements) - for applicants who graduated before the academic year of application. Applicants who will graduate in the academic year of application send a certified copy of their Maturita certificate to the Study Department of the Faculty of Central European Studies of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra by 30 June of the current year.

Master´s degree (Mgr.)

In the application form, the applicant must indicate: the academic year, the required personal data, the name of the faculty, the name of the study programme in which he/she is interested, the form of study (full-time or external), the method of study (present), the details on the completed bachelor's studies, on the second page of the application form he/she gives an overview of further and incomplete studies at the university, the date and signature on application form.

Mandatory attachments to the application form are: CV, a motivation letter, for applicants who  completed their bachelor's degree before the academic year of application - certified copies of the diploma and the supplement to the diploma of completion of the bachelor's study programme, for applicants who are in the final year of their bachelor's studies - an original transcript of the results of studies on the courses completed in the first to penultimate semester of their studies certified by the study department of the relevant faculty, with the grades of individual courses; a certified copy of the diploma and the supplement to the diploma on the completion of the bachelor’s programme must be submitted no later than the day of enrolment in the 1st  year of the Bachelor's degree programme to the Study Department of the Faculty of Central European Studies .

 Proof of payment of the fee (to be pasted on the 3rd page above the applicant's signature).

A transcript of results is not required from the applicant - a student of the Faculty of Central European Studies - for the Master's programme at the Faculty of Central European Studies

Doctoral degree (PhD.)

In the application form, the applicant must indicate the following: academic year, required personal data, name of the faculty, name of the study programme in which he/she is interested, form of study (full-time or part-time study), method of study (present), chosen dissertation topic and supervisor, information about the completed master's programme, on the second page of the application form he/she gives an overview of further and incomplete studies at the university, the date and signs the application form.

Mandatory attachments to the application form are: CV, motivation letter, for applicants who completed their master's studies before the academic year of application - certified photocopies of documents confirming completion of master's studies. Applicants who are in the final year of their master's studies - an original transcript of the results of their studies, certified by the study department of the relevant faculty, on the courses completed in the first to penultimate semester of their studies, with the grades of the individual courses; a certified copy of the diploma and the supplement to the diploma on the completion of the master’s programme shall be submitted to the Study Department of the Faculty of Central European Studies no later than the day of enrolment in the 1st  year of the doctoral programme with a proof of payment of the fee (to be pasted on the 3rd page above the applicant's signature), a project on the topic of the doctoral thesis, a list of previously published professional and scientific (artistic) works.

Other attachments to the application form are: evidence of achievements in an interest activity related to the study programme for which the applicant is applying, evidence of a state language examination.
