A többközpontú nyelvek nem-domináns változatai nemzetközi munkacsoportjának (WGNDV) és a Nyitrai Konstantin Filozófus Egyetem Közép-európai Karának közös szervezésében

A Working Group on Non-Dominant Varieties of Pluricentric Languages (WGNDV) 2018. június 21–23-án rendezi 6. világkonferenciáját Szlovákiában, Nyitrán, közösen a Nyitrai Konstantin Filozófus Egyetem Közép-európai Tanulmányok Karával.

A WGNDV fő céljának a nyelvi többközpontúság (plc) elméletének kidolgozását és annak fejlesztését, valamint az olyan nyelvváltozatok kutatását tekinti, amelyeknek ugyan kis számú beszélője van, de jelentős szimbolikus erővel rendelkeznek, és amelyet nem az adott nyelv normaképző központjában beszélnek. Ezeket gyakran tévesen dialektusnak vélik, és általában nincsen kodifikált normájuk. A WGNDV korábbi konferenciái (lásd www.pluricentriclanguages.org) azt mutatták, hogy a nem domináns változatok számos közös nyelvi és szociolingvisztikai jellemzővel rendelkeznek.

A 6. konferencia központi témája:

A tematikus fókusz ezúttal elsősorban az Európában található pluricentrikus nyelvek és nem-domináns változataik kapcsolataira és konfliktusaira esik, mivel úgy gondoljuk, hogy számos olyan nyitott kérdés található ezen a téren, amely kutatásra és vitára érdemes.

A konferencia nyelve az angol, illetve minden pluricentrikus nyelven szervezhető szekció, ahol az előadások az adott nyelven hangozhatnak el. A konferencia szerkesztett előadásait angol nyelvű kötetben jelennek meg hagyományosan a Peter Lang International Academic Publishers gondozásában.

Az előadások max. 3000 karakternyi absztraktját 2018 április 15-ig lehet feltölteni a konferencia honlapjára. A konferencia szerkesztett előadásai angol nyelvű kötetben jelennek meg.

Dear Colleague, 

We would like to invite you to participate in the 6th conference organized by the Working Group on Non-Dominant Varieties of Pluricentric Languages (WGNDV). The conference will take place for the very first time in (former) Eastern Europe, at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia, between June 21-23 2018.

The WGNDV focuses on the promotion of the theory of plc. languages by its worldwide perspective and on varieties that are small by the number of their speakers and their symbolic power, and are not the primary norm-setting centres of the language. They may often be falsely attributed the status of a "dialect", and often have little or no codification of their norms.

The previous conferences of the WGNDV (see www.pluricentriclanguages.org) have shown that non-dominant varieties around the world have many linguistic and sociolinguistic features in common.

Objectives of the 6^thconference:

The WGNDV wishes to continue in the line of the previous conferences and to extend the scope of its research. We would therefore like to invite scholars from around the world to take part in the conference and give insight into the situation and features of plc. languages and nd-varieties in Europe. The thematic focus this time will be on contact and conflict between and within plc. languages and nd-varieties that are situated in Europe as we think that there are open questions that need research and discussion.
